Donald Trump did it! His campaign finally compared the federal indictments he's facing to the lawlessness reminiscent of Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union.
"The lawlessness of these persecutions of President Trump and his supporters is reminiscent of Nazi Germany in the 1930s, the former Soviet Union, and other authoritarian, dictatorial regimes," Trump's 2024 campaign said in a statement.
But the news media turned it into what it was not. It was not a comparison to the Holocaust. What's happening in this country is scandalous. The very founding of America is under attack. Our elections are being threatened. One has been stolen. The rule of law today is a myth. Joe Biden and Merrick Garland have shredded the Constitution in their hopes of holding power, fixing another election and jailing a president.
But, wait, you can't describe ANYTHING "as reminiscent of Nazi Germany"? That's what Anti-Defamation League Director Jonathan Greenblatt said.
"Comparing this indictment to Nazi Germany in the 1930s is factually incorrect, completely inappropriate and flat out offensive. As we have said time and again, such comparisons have no place in politics and are shameful," he said.
Almost universally, the news media took the bait.
Well, if you compare Trump's indictment to the Holocaust, that would be true. But that was not the case. The campaign was comparing "the lawlessness of the persecutions of Trump and his supporters" to Nazi Germany. That would be absolutely true. It was a fine analogy.
Trump's team also claimed the charges were an attempt by the Biden administration to interfere with the next election.
"This is nothing more than the latest corrupt chapter in the continued pathetic attempt by the Biden Crime Family and their weaponized Department of Justice to interfere with the 2024 Presidential Election," the statement said.
Trump's campaign called the prosecution of the 45th president "un-American" and said it was another witch hunt used to distract from the latest Hunter Biden scandal involving the president.
"But why did they wait two and a half years to bring these fake charges, right in the middle of President Trump's winning campaign for 2024? Why was it announced the day after the big Crooked Joe Biden scandal broke out from the Halls of Congress?" the campaign questioned. "The answer is, election interference!"
Trump was charged Tuesday with four counts - conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding and conspiracy against rights. He faces up to 561 years in prison if he is found guilty of all charges. And there are already a lot more on the way.
Federal prosecutors allege Trump knowingly made false claims of voter fraud after Biden won the 2020 election in a desperate attempt to stay in the White House. But he didn't make false claims of voter fraud. Most have never even be heard in a court of law. He has not been charged with the crime of inciting a riot after he urged thousands of supporters to attend a "peaceful" rally at the Capitol on Jan. 6.
"The attack on our nation's Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, was an unprecedented assault on the seat of American democracy," special counsel Jack Smith said in a brief statement to reporters.
"As described in the indictment, it was fueled by lies - lies by the defendant targeted at obstructing a bedrock function of the U.S. government: the nation's process of collecting, counting and certifying the results of the presidential election."
Trump -the GOP front-runner in the 2024 presidential race- has been indicted three times in just four months. He's also been charged with 40 felony counts involving allegations he took boxes of classified documents and materials from the White House and stored them inside his Mar-a-Lago estate. A lie from the pit of Hell!
Donald Trump's daughter and son-in-law are Jews. I'm sure he loves them both. And he loves Israel and did more for the Jewish state in his administration than any other president. He was not committing some blood libel against them. He was simply saying, there might be a Nazi living the in the White House.

President Donald Trump right now is in the cross-hairs of the Deep State, the establishment, the power structure, whatever name fits.
The latest is a series of charges from the Department of Justice over his comments made about his belief that the 2020 presidential election was stolen.
In fact, there's significant evidence of wrongdoing, including that the FBI interfered in the election by falsely telling social and legacy media to suppress accurate reporting about the international business scheming of the Biden clan, apparently including both Hunter and Joe
Essentially, he's been accused of trying to undermine America by challenging the 2020 results.
But it actually was the other side, the Democrats, who actually staged a "de facto coup," he wrote in a commentary at Newsweek.
Trump explains: "The report by Special Counsel John Durham makes clear beyond a shred of doubt that the Russia Hoax was the most atrocious weaponization of our government in American history. It was a crime like no other.
"Seven years ago, I ran for office taking on all the most corrupt forces and entrenched interests in our nation's capital. My agenda was an existential threat to a Washington establishment that got rich and powerful bleeding America dry.
"I vowed to stop mass illegal immigration, terminate globalist trade deals, end the sellout of our country to Communist China, stand up to the permanent bureaucracy and the corporate media, and break the neocon addiction to endless foreign wars."
The opposition quickly formed, he said.
"In response, an unelected cabal in the senior ranks of our government, in concert with their chosen candidate, Hillary Clinton, and their allies in the media, launched the de-facto coup attempt known as the Russia Hoax.
"Their goal was to prevent my election, and failing that, to throw me out of office or sabotage my presidency, undercut my agenda in Congress, block my domestic reforms, and interfere with my foreign policy.
"For nearly three years, they carried out a massive disinformation campaign and lawless persecution based on the monstrous lie that I was a traitor to my country."
He pointed out the "Deep State plotters" spied on his campaign, falsified evidence to a federal court, offered a reward for confirmation of a "fictitious dossier," and worse.
"The Durham Report proves that the key figures involved knew from the start that the Russia Collusion conspiracy theory was a lie. The FBI launched their witch hunt without a scrap of legitimate evidence—and when they came upon exonerating information time after time, they covered it up and kept the hoax going forward."
He pointed to those he said are responsible.
"The sickness was driven from the very top. FBI Director James Comey constantly pressured agents for more surveillance and warrants, demanding to know over and over 'Where is the FISA, where is the FISA?'
"Barack Obama and Joe Biden were in on it, too. They were briefed in August 2016 on reports that Clinton planned to vilfy Donald Trump by stirring up a scandal claiming interference by the Russian Security Services."
The result was, "they put our country through hell."
And he described the damage to the nation from the hoax as "almost incalculable" because it "subverted our democracy."
And he said, "Perhaps most dangerous of all, the Russia Hoax normalized the weaponization of law enforcement against the Left's political enemies. The Radical Democrats and their media partners now cheer as Biden's DOJ demands the FBI investigate parents at school board meetings, deploys heavily armed teams to arrest pro-life activists, and pursues an all-out persecution of Joe Biden's leading opponent for the presidency."
The agencies involved now, he said, "Are interfering in the 2024 election before our very eyes."

In a development that has more than a little irony involved, Jack Smith, Joe Biden's point man on the campaign to file charges against President Donald Trump, has admitted he lied in court.
He apparently failed to provide to the defense all of the video material that he was supposed to. And then he said in court that it had been done.
"The government's representation at the July 18 hearing that all surveillance footage the government had obtained pre-indictment had been produced was therefore incorrect," he admitted in a court filing.
Ironically, his team had just accused Trump in a new indictment of "conspiring with his staff to delete some security footage so that the grand jury in the case would not see all the evidence," explained a report from the Epoch Times.
The report called the confirmation a "startling admission."
"Mr. Smith's team said in a July 31 court filing in its classified documents case against the former president that it had incorrectly claimed during a July 18 court hearing that it had provided all Mar-a-Lago surveillance footage to Mr. Trump's defense attorneys, as required by law."
But he admitted his team learned "this footage had not been processed and uploaded to the platform" set up for the defense.
Under what is known in federal courts as the Brady rule, prosecutors are required by law to share all evidence with a defendant's legal team.
The Epoch Times noted the Biden Department of Justice did not immediately return a request for comment.
The report explained Smith's team had accused Trump of telling a Mar-a-Lago worker to delete security tapes.
Trump said Smith's claim simply was false.
The case focuses on the presidential papers Trump took with him when he left office. Some of them were classified, but as president he had the authority to declassify what he chose.
In stark contrast, similar classified papers also were found in the residences - or garage in Joe Biden's case - of him and Mike Pence. But the DOJ has declined to begin any case against either of them.

Hij houdt vast aan zijn kritiek op de uitkomst van de vorige verkiezingen. "Ik ga nu naar Washington DC om gearresteerd te worden omdat ik een corrupte, frauduleuze en gestolen verkiezing wilde aanvechten," zei hij op Truth Social.

Trump voegde toe dat het rechtssysteem als een politiek wapen tegen hem wordt ingezet om zijn campagne te saboteren.
Vrijdag was hij in Montgomery in de staat Alabama voor de zomerbijeenkomst van de Republikeinen. Hij deed daar een opmerkelijke uitspraak. "We zullen de Deep State snel vernietigen. We weten welke lijken er in de kast liggen," aldus Trump.

Biden wanted Garland to take "decisive action" against Trump: Report

The latest indictment of former President Trump threatens to destroy the First Amendment and give the federal government the unprecedented power to criminalize political lies, constitutional law professor and Fox News contributor Jonathan Turley warned Saturday.
Trump was indicted this week on four charges related to Special Counsel Jack Smith's investigation into 2020 election interference and the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, including conspiracy to defraud the United States. Trump pleaded not guilty to all charges in a Washington, D.C., courtroom Thursday.
In an op-ed for The Hill, Turley wrote that Smith's indictment essentially charges Trump for spreading "lies that there had been outcome-determinative fraud in the election," which he said is a dangerous proposition for the First Amendment.

"In order to secure convictions for this, Special Counsel Jack Smith would need to bulldoze through not just the First Amendment but also existing case law holding that even false statements are protected," he wrote.
Specifically, Turley said Smith's charges assert that Trump knew the statements he made about the 2020 election were false and said if Trump does believe he won, "the indictment collapses."
In an effort to show Trump knew he lost legitimately, the indictment explains that many people advised him that he lost. Turley said Trump sought out people who said he won but that he is allowed to do this.

"Trump is allowed to seek out enablers who tell him what he wants to hear," Turley wrote. "All presidents do this. (Joe Biden, for example, ignored virtually unanimous legal opinion and relied upon a single law professor's say-so to justify an obviously unconstitutional executive action that later had to be reversed.)"
Turley also warned that successfully charging Trump in this way sets up the "dangerous" precedent of giving the government the power to determine what's true and what isn't.
"There is no limiting principle to this indictment," Turley wrote in The Hill. "The government would choose between which politicians are lying and which are lying without cause."

Turley said there is a "constitutional problem" with trying to "criminalize lies" in this way. He said a 2012 Supreme Court case, United States v. Alvarez, found that it's unconstitutional to criminalize lies and that the court recognized that ruling otherwise would give the government "broad censorial power unprecedented in this court's cases or in our constitutional tradition."
"So, even assuming that Smith can prove Trump lied, there would still be constitutional barriers to criminalizing his false statements," Turley wrote.
Turley added that even if Judge Tanya Chutkan supports Smith's case, "the Supreme Court would likely balk at the criminalization of false political speech."
