CANADA 'HEALTH CARE SYSTEM'

Hello, dear mister Burggraaf,
I can read Dutch, but to write it is too hard for me. I have read an article on your website about Insurance and I would like to ask you a question. What is your opinion about the Canadian Health Care System? Do you classify it as a sinful Insurance or what else?

Dear Lincy V.,
I live in Canada myself, so I know what you are talking about. The Canadian Health Care System is not an Insurance, like a fire Insurance or something similar to that, because it is a free Health Care Program offered by the government with no charge. The government is a biblical institution, ordained by God to reign and protect its country and to take care of its citizens. The government is biblically allowed to collect taxes of business people and also to pay the costs of medical care of its citizens.
Be aware! An Insurance Company is not a biblical institution of the Lord, but simply said: an ordinary business to make money. In case your house is destroyed by a fire, you can get a lot of money back from the Insurance Company to build a new house, if you have paid the required and conditional rates. That is not how the Canadian Health Care System works. In case of illness and disease, the government pays the costs of medical care, free of rates. Now, you can either make use of it or not. When you put all your trust on the Canadian Health Care System, it is sin, but if you can thank the Lord for this UNconditional gift, it is a blessing of the Lord. Free Canadian Health Care is a great gift for poor people -humanly speaking- but Insurance is not a free gift, because the Insurance Companies collect high rates and you first have to pay for the Insurance services.
Perhaps you ask: Now, what makes the difference?
Answer: Can you thank the Lord for a legalistic caretaking of yourself by voluntary use of Insurance? No, you can only thank the Lord for a free UNconditional gift out of His merciful hands. The Canadian government provides free Health Care with no requirements. Insurance always has the payment requirements to cover the damage. However, if insurance is mandatory, such as car-insurance, then just pay it, but if you make use of voluntary insurance, it is a proof of unbelief concerning the Providence of the Lord. The grace of the Lord is always free and a free gift of the government can be a real blessing if we receive that free unconditional gift out of the hands of the Lord with true faith. Without faith, you cannot please God, even when you receive a free gift. Voluntary Insurance is an idol, and you can not be thankful to the Lord for an idol. However, when the government offers free and unconditional Health Care for its citizens, then you have to be thankful to the Lord when you make use of it. To use it is not mandatory. If you make use of it with a true faith, you do good, but if you wish to be fully dependent on the Lord, you do better. So, the worst thing is 'Voluntary Insurance', because it is NOT free and NOT unconditional and when you make use of it, you legalistically take care of yourself and you have closed the door of God's Providence and His divine Health Care. Please, ask the Lord that you may go in His way, to do His will in Christ and to give Him all the honor He deserves.
